You are interested in art history; does that influence your fashion choices?

I think that my interest in art and art history definitely lends itself to my fashion choices. I look at clothing the same way I look at art-trying to find harmony in the colors and textures throughout the outfit. I usually dress for a "mood"; I'll dress in a menswear style one day and an ultra-feminine outfit the next. To me, that is very similar to the various movements and styles throughout art history.

Do you think of fashion as another type of art you like study?

Fashion is a form of art, extremely personal and always changing. Walking around outside and seeing strangers' street style is like going to an art gallery for me. Usually, I'll be inspired by what I see a stranger doing and find a way to incorporate that into my wardrobe somehow.

Many of your fashion choices are bold and eccentric, you mix a lot of patterns. How do you keep the confident mindset of your style?

I love to mix patterns and experiment with pieces that normally people wouldn't put together. Wearing something bold makes me feel bold.

What is your favorite article of clothing you own? What is its significance?

It is so difficult to choose which article of clothing is my favorite. The best ones usually come from thrift stores because they have so much more personality. One shirt that never fails me is one I found at a thrift store. It is a deep purple with a paisley pattern, mock turtleneck, and a tie at the neck. I love to mix that older piece with something more modern like skinny dark wash jeans to keep it current.
