H&M x Kenzo

One of the biggest gripes people typically have with fashion shows is that the clothing put out on the runway isn’t fit to be worn in everyday life. High fashion brand Kenzo partnered with H&M recently to bring couture pieces to the mainstream market, and on October 19th the two showcased these items on a runway in New York City to promote the November 3rd launch of the line in 250 stores worldwide. Just because the collection is sold at H&M doesn’t mean the pieces come cheap, however. Like last year’s Balmain x H&M line, prices range from around $500 down to around $100, with small items like beanies and sunglasses available for less than $100. The collection features a vibrant mixture of patterns, with many pieces including some combination of floral, tribal, and/or animal print.

The pieces are also very colorful featuring a lot of jewel tones throughout the collection. Collaborations with well-respected fashion houses like Balmain and Kenzo are a brilliant way for H&M to up their street-cred when it comes to clothing and for Kenzo to appeal to the millions of customers who shop at H&M (Beyoncé also wears Kenzo from time to time, so that kind of exposure doesn’t hurt either).

These pieces definitely aren’t for the faint of heart, but the Kenzo x H&M line may be a fun, fashionable way to spruce up a drab winter outfit.
